Season’s Greetings! MTEF has had another
exciting and productive year. MTEF’s TEAM programs continue to grow in
popularity and impact, thanks in part to our List of 39, an individual measurement system that
tracks results in our four core areas – 1) Academics, 2) Fitness/Nutrition, 3)
Life Skills, and of course, 4) Tennis.
Three MTEF participants finished
first in the NJTL National Student Athlete Competition (NSAC) and one finished
second, making MTEF the first chapter to have three gold medalists and one
silver medalist in the year-long competition.
one of the founders of NJTL, Arthur Ashe demonstrated that tennis can be a
powerful and cost-effective tool to change the lives of central-city children.
Ashe was more than a great athlete, his commitment to social justice and
humanitarian issues left a mark on the world as indelible as his tennis was on
the court. The goal of MTEF is to continue the work and legacy of Arthur Ashe
here in Milwaukee.
As you plan your year-end donations, please
consider MTEF. There is so much more to do in the months and years ahead – and
so many reasons to be optimistic about our future. I hope you enjoy reading our
most recent newsletter, The Match, and it inspires you to do something to
make a difference in the life of a child.
MTEF is proud to be
a National Junior Tennis & Learning
