MTEF’s free Summer TEAM program serves approximately 750 children, ages 9-18, in three strategically located neighborhoods on Milwaukee’s North and South Sides.
TEAM combines five separate but intertwined curricula –academics, nutrition, fitness, life skills and tennis. All are tested on 39 metrics within the five curricula at the beginning and end of the summer session.
Participants play weekly Jr. Team Tennis (JTT) matches against other clubs in the Greater Milwaukee area. Each child receives a free lunch as well fruit snacks.
High Performance TEAM is a year-round, invitation-only program that combines five separate but intertwined curricula -- academics, nutrition, fitness, life skills and tennis. All participants must enter the USTA’s National Student Athlete Competition (NASC), which tracks both on-court and off-court success. In 2013, three players won their respective NSAC divisions making MTEF the first NJTL chapter in the US to have three winners in a single year.
