I would like to invite your son/daughter to attend the first ever MTEF High Performance TEAM Tennis Academy, which will be held 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily from June 16 – August 1st at Merrill Park (home of the MUHS tennis team). The academy, completely funded by a generous donation from the Bortz Family Foundation, will be like no other tennis academy in Wisconsin, as it combines the latest in high performance tennis with typical NJTL components like academics and life skills development.
Throughout the years, MTEF has offered free programming to over 23,000 central-city children who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to learn and enjoy the sport of tennis. In 2006, MTEF recognized the need to extend our pathway to include a high performance component, thanks to a partnership with Marquette University. Because of the success of this school-year program the need for a high performance summer academy became apparent.
I am contacting junior tennis players in the Milwaukee area to invite them to join me and MTEF’s 50 best juniors in what I hope will be a unique experience. In order to strengthen the overall level of tennis and to help enrich the camp experience, we have decided to make five spots per day available to non-MTEF children, ages 9-17 years old. The cost is $25 per three-hour session or $50 per day. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis, and will be done online or by completing and returning the attached form.
